Under Geneva II Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov accuses the United States of obstructing the peace process in Syria through their continued insistence that the only acceptable end to the conflict is al-Assad’s departure, and through their continuing to raise the prospects of military intervention. One cannot help but feel a sense of déjà vu when Kofi Annan, the brokering UN Envoy in 2012, came to see that the primary driver of continued conflict in Syria were outside powers, particularly the United States, while Russia, China and Iran who are promoting the will and interests of the Syrian people.

President Barack Obama is visiting Saudi Arabia in late March. But no Western media has really explained the real reason: Saudi Arabia is defeated in Syria and the U.S. President is coming to redistribute positions within the Saudi regime and within the royal family.
