President Vladimir Putin congratulated newly elected president Nicolas Maduro by telephone on April 15 for winning the snap election in Venezuela. Urging all parties to accept "the will of the voters", Moscow, just like China, was one of the first world leaders outside Latin America who recognized and congratulated the Chávez heir.

The Non-Aligned Movement, a 120 member and 17 observer country power bloc that makes up nearly two-thirds of the United Nations, released an official statement on Wednesday recognizing and congratulating Nicolas Maduro for winning a very fair, respectable, and transparent campaign in Venezuela.

Hugo Chávez's economic policies were successful but a close vote means the new president cannot become complacent.

The "Despair of fascism" becomes more "evident" as the Twitter accounts of the Venezuela presidential hopeful Nicolas Maduro has been compromised on Sunday by the Lulz Security Peru hacktivist group according Venezuelan Vice President Jorge Arreaza's and minister of Communications & Information Ernesto Villegas's twitter accounts.
