Jun. 21, 2013 (TSR) – An Israeli security guard has shot dead a Jewish visitor in al-Quds mistaking him for a Palestinian, because he shouted “God is the Greatest” in Arabic.

Witnesses said the guard fired between seven to ten bullets and the fire was unjustified.

“There was a Jewish guy, an Israeli guy, who was in the bathroom area,” regime’s police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld told AFP.

“He for some reason shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’,” Rosenfeld said. “A security guard drew his weapon and fired several shots at the suspect… He died from his wounds a few moments ago.”

Palestinians who lost their homeland under bloody wars that resulted in Israel’s occupation of Palestine are subjected to daily violence from Israeli forces. However this time an Israeli man has fallen victim to this violence.

Paramedic Zeevi Hessed told news website NRG that his team rushed to the scene as reports of a shooting came in.

“When we reached the place, we saw him lying at the Western Wall plaza,” he said. “He had been shot in several parts of his body… Sadly there was nothing we could do but declare him dead.”

The incident highlighted smoldering tensions in the area.

Palestinians are regularly attacked by Israeli forces at the area which holds Islam’s second holiest place, believed to be where Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) ascended to Heaven.
