May 1, 2013 (TSR) – Press TV has conducted an interview with Lawrence Freeman, with the Executive Intelligence Review from Baltimore to shed more light on the issue of US’ accusations of chemical weapons use against Syria.

What follows is an approximate transcription of the interview.

Press TV: Mr. Freeman terrorist attacks are on the rise in Syria, accusations of chemical weapons are on the rise too.

How close are we to seeing another Iraqi-style intervention in Syria. as many call it?

Freeman: We are close, we are inching away towards an Iraqi or you could call the Lebanese-style regime change policy.

President Obama is now creating the conditions for a second fiasco much worse than we saw in Libya, where the regime is removed and the country will be destroyed and we …., destroyed and al-Qaeda will take over Syria in the way that al-Qaeda now is virtually taking over Libya.

There is no evidence, no evidence, presented to the public today that shows the use of chemical weapons.

This is a farce, this is a fraud, very reminiscent of the yellowcake fraud of Dick Cheney and George Bush in Iraq.

Number two, the UN team that is supposed to investigate the use of chemical weapons, to my knowledge, has not arrived in Syria.

Number three, as a team, to my understanding, it does not even have the mandate to consider who used the chemical weapons, much less if the chemical weapons were used at all.

So this is a fraud, this is a farce that is being pushed by President Obama.

He is pushing us right to the edge of war; this is a continuation of the Tony Blair regime change policy and the only thing that has kept the United States from intervening in months earlier, if not last year, has been the military component of our society.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff, run by the General Martin Dempsey, has kept us out of war because of the military saying, we do not want to go into a war that actually brings al-Qaeda into power, and that has been the major pushback against President Obama’s war policy.

But he is pushing us and he is pushing us and we may get there if we do not stop this policy and we do not remove Obama from office at the earliest opportunity.

Press TV: We now have the Hezbollah Chief, Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, saying Syria’s real friends, meaning Lebanon and Iran and other countries, he meant, will not leave it alone.

What do you think this could mean?

Freeman: This could mean that is going to be an expansion of regional war throughout the entire area.

I mean it will expand to Lebanon, expand to Jordan, Israel will be brought in.

But the bigger danger of the friends that Syria has, is you have to look towards the position that President Putin is taking in Russia.

They were manipulated and fooled into believing this operation in Libya, a couple of years ago, and they know that this is what the West intends here and they will defend the sovereignty of Syria because they know that they are really defending the sovereignty of Russia and the game that has been played by the British and by President Obama, is to back down the Russians primarily and the Chinese secondarily, to submit to domination by the West and NATO policy.

And drive in this policy is a complete and utter destruction of the economies of Europe.

Europe is being destroyed country by country. Greece, Cyprus, Spain, Portugal and has the clasp, of that financial Western System, one have the city of London, that is driving the Obama administration closer and closer to war as a consequence.
