May 1, 2013 (TSR – PressTV) – Press TV has interviewed Mark Glenn, Crescent and Cross Solidarity Movement from Idaho about the latest developments in Syria. The following is an approximate transcription of the interview. To watch the video, go here.

Press TV: What proof is there that Syria has been using chemical weapons?

Glenn: Absolutely no proof whatsoever. The only information that we have on this are the same sources who pushed the United States into going to war against Iraq back in 2003 on the false pretenses that again weapons of mass destruction were threatening the world.

Let’s remember that this drama really began with the recent news in Israel when Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel was there – and he wasn’t even made aware of this. This is just Israel’s way of pushing the United States into launching overt military actions against Syria as a gateway towards launching military actions against Iran.

Press TV: We have Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov saying that such claims must not be based on information provided by the media. Just how strong a role does the media play, if you will, in concocting fictitious proof?

Glenn: It plays the largest role imaginable.

The United States would not have gone to war against Iraq and destroyed that country over a decade ago were it not for the lies that the US media – a very Israeli-centered pro-Zionist American media, let’s just be specific about that – were it not for the deliberate lies that they peddled to the American people that were fueling all of this hysteria about Saddam Hussein and his supposed weapons program.

So, media in this country is more powerful than the government itself. The media sets the course as to what kind of a public policy is going to be pursued.

TV news lies

And it really is a testimony as to just how free people really are here in the United States – we’re not free at all, our elected officials don’t even do our bidding, they do the bidding as I said that is set by an Israeli-centric media in this country.

And again if the media had decided that we needed to invade a country for whatever pretext that they wished, unfortunately our government would go along with it because the media really is the government in this country.

Press TV: All things considered how likely are we going to see an all-out war in Syria?

Glenn: At this point I do not see this happening for the simple reason that there are other more powerful players: you just listed the spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Mikhail Bogdanov.

Russia is not a minor player in this. Russia has the ability to project the course. She is a nuclear power and has made it very clear that she is absolutely opposed to any military intervention in Syria. And I think that Russia is going to stand by her word on this.

Netanyahu_Palestine

The wild card in all of this of course is Israel. Israel – we’re dealing with a mad dog here; we’re dealing with a madman in the person of Netanyahu and there is no telling what Israel would be willing to do in order to push the United States into launching military actions.

slave-to-israel

Is a nuclear weapon going to go off in the United States and it’s going to be blamed on Syrian terrorists or are chemical weapons going to be used in the United States and it’s going to be blamed on Syria?

The problem when you’re dealing with an irrational player such as Netanyahu and such as Israel is that they are capable of doing anything.
