The statement calls upon those who are not active in revolutionary thought to respect the memory of President and not take advantage of the situation facing the people of Venezuela to try to destabilize the country.

Below is both the full English translated text with the Spanish text of the statement:

With deep sadness I present my sincere condolences to the family of President Hugo Rafael Chávez Frias Commander, particularly her two daughters, to their colleagues, to their people and government. With pain and consternation, on this tragic day, I join the tears and pain of the millions of women and men of the people of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and throughout Latin America, whom the Commander President Hugo Chávez, with his deep sense of humanism and social, not only won the heart but also restored dignity.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Latin America, the oppressed and downtrodden of the world, lost with the passing of a paradigmatic leader, visionary and truly revolutionary, a statesman, a leader whose name is capitalized for his deep conviction about that justice, equity and respect are possible-and necessary-not only among men but also among peoples and nations.

President Hugo Rafael Chávez Frias, with his untimely death, definitely leaves a big gap, but also leaves enormous hope and transformative perspective of social, economic, cultural and policy that are susceptible and deserving the Venezuelan people, the peoples of Latin America and the planet. The unquestionable heritage of the Commander of the Bolivarian and Latin American cause is the determination with which we must strive for the unity, the freedom, the solidarity and peace among peoples and nations.

Revolutionary approaches and ideals of Commander Hugo Chávez Frias does not end here, rather a start of new challenges for those who are committed to the changes demanded by our peoples.

Finally, I appeal to those who do not share the ideals and the changes that he began to respect his memory and in his death are not a pretext to destabilize and violate the will of those who have decided democratically and decide the fate of the great Bolivarian nation. The Venezuelan people is worthy of their conquests, their development and peace. Rest dear friend President Hugo Rafael Chávez Frias Commander and return to the rightful cosmic dimension.

********

Hugo Chavez’s energy is “extraordinarily strong”

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez was sent strong Mayan cosmic energies and will overcome all obstacles, according to Rigoberta Menchu.

Menchu, and another 20 “wise men” are gathered in Caracas last month, to work on helping Chavez’s health improve by performing Mayan healing ceremonies.

“I am absolutely positive President Hugo Chavez received cosmic energy because our medicine comes from the deepest places of Mother Earth,” Menchu said during an official event, reported AFP.

According to the news agency, the 1992 Nobel Peace Prize winner met with Venezuelan Vice President Nicolas Maduro and other members of the cabinet.

Menchu said she thought that Hugo Chavez’s energy is “extraordinarily strong” and this will lead him to overcome small and large obstacles in his way.

Menchu said, ”[Chavez’s] words, health, dreams, wishes will go on through all frontiers—regardless if he’s able to talk or not.”

Alluding to the cancer he is being treated for, Menchu said Chavez just needs to regenerate his body tissue in order to regain his health, reported AFP.

“This is not something folkloric. We focus our energies from the wisdom of our Mayan ancestors,” Menchu said, before asking everyone to get rid of all pessimistic thoughts surrounding the health of Hugo Chavez, reported AFP news agency.

Mayan healing ceremonies are full of sophisticated rituals dedicated to Mother Earth, Dr. Amir Farid Isahak told The Star Online..

“Mayan traditional medicine is actually very sophisticated. Mayan traditional healers try to harmonise their lives and their patients’ lives with Mother Earth. Mayan traditional healing is holistic healing, with full awareness that the body, mind, emotions, spirit and environment are all interconnected. Their healers know that healing occurs only when there is balance and harmony in the patient’s life. They also heal with love from their hearts.”

“Their traditional medicine is similarly wholly dependent on the healing powers provided by the earth—its soil, water, plants and creatures. Most of their remedies come from the jungle,” he said.
