Comfort Women: Japan mayor says US troops abused women during occupation

Japan has a dark history which all its Asian neighboring nations want to apologize for. Until today, Japan refuse to look at its painful past. Up to 200,000 “comfort women” from Korea, China, the Philippines and elsewhere were forcibly drafted into brothels catering to the Japanese military during WWII, according to many mainstream historians. In response to US criticism on this wartime sex slavery, Japan's Osaka Mayor, Toru Hashimoto, claims American troops abused Japanese women during their seven-year occupation. He also slammed France and Germany as they were among countries that introduced wartime “comfort stations.”

Racism and Sexual Violence in Indonesia: Where Fear Stalks Women in the Streets

Indonesia is fully subservient to Western geo-political and economic interests, ever since 1965, when its corrupt officers led by Suharto, committed treason and began murdering their own citizens. In and after 1965, rape and sexual torture were used in the most beastly ways. Many women had their breasts and genitals ‘amputated’ which was, biasa, or ‘normal’. The Regime was using entire military battalions to rape women in the villages and towns of East Timor, during the genocidal occupation. One of the commanders was Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, a Suharto’s high-ranking officer, now President of Indonesia. In 1995, Hillary Clinton famously declared in Beijing: “Human rights are women’s rights, and women’s rights are human rights.” Yet later in 2009, while visiting Indonesia in her role as the US Secretary of State, she announced: “As I travel around the world over the next years, I will be saying to people: if you want to know whether Islam, democracy, modernity and women’s rights can co-exist, go to Indonesia.” American duplicity and hypocrisy on human rights at its best.
