June 4, 2013 (TSR) – The Turkey Prime Minister has described the protestors as ‘robbers’ during the third day of widespread protests.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed from the very beginning of the protests in Turkey, that he would not lend any importance to the demonstrators, and described the protesters as ‘thieves.’

The Republican People’s Party (CHP), Kemal K?l?çdaro?lu called on Erdogan to apologize to the people. The protests have continued in Taksim Square in Istanbul and other cities and protesters demanding the overthrow of the government.

Erdogan has already called the Taksim Square protesters as ‘radical’ and stressed that the security forces would not leave the square And will not let the ‘extremists’ do whatever they want.

In the security forces and police violent reactions to the protesters, so far more than 100 people have been injured.

Muammer Guler, Turkey’s interior minister said that number of wounded had reached to around 170 people. However, many human rights organizations have put the number believed the number is far beyond that.

Human Rights Watch also reported yesterday that 2 people have been killed during the clashes in Turkey.

People in Ankara yesterday, began protesting in support of their fellow citizens in Istanbul. Ankara police fired tear gas at the people to disperse the protests which were held peacefully.

Violence raged overnight as riot police in Istanbul and Ankara fired more tear gas and water cannon at flag-waving protesters who set cars ablaze, hurled stones and bellowed angry slogans against Erdogan and his policies, chanting “Tayyip, Resign!”

The United Nations called for a full investigation into allegations of excessive use of police force against anti-government demonstrators while Turkey’s main union federation launched a two-day strike over what it branded “state terror”.

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has admitted that “there have been some mistakes, extremism in police response.” He has also promised that legal action would be taken against officers who acted disproportionately.
