May 7, 2013 (TSR-SANA) – Iran and Jordan have stressed the need to find a political solution to the crisis in Syria that maintains the unity of Syria’s territories and people through comprehensive dialogue involving all components the Syrian people.

That came in a joint press conference between Iranian Foreign Minister, Ali Akbar Salehi, and Jordanian counterpart, Nasser Judeh, in Amman on Tuesday.

Salehi, said : ” We reject the foreign interference in Syria’s internal affairs as reject any solution imposed by outsiders on the Syrians who are the only ones to determine their destiny,”

He warned of the repercussions of the crisis on all states, saying that any vacuum in Syria would have serious repercussions on the region, clarifying that cooperation between all is inevitable to avoid the repercussions of the crisis.

Salehi said : ” We stand by the Syrian people and the Syrian government is in contact with all. We, since the beginning of the crisis, said that Iran was in touch with the Syrian opposition and asked them to sit down with the Syrian government to determine Syria’s fate and the future. We recognize the peaceful opposition and not terrorist Jabhat al-Nusra which perpetrates criminal acts and demolishes religious shrines.”

Salehi stressed that Iran supports the Syrian people economically and humanly while
other countries working on supplying terrorists with weapons, money and those are responsible for the destruction of the state infrastructure.

The Iranian Minister said: ” Al-Qaeda-linked terrorist Jabhat-al-Nusra is perpetrating terrorist crimes on the Syrian ground, These crimes are synchronized with the Israeli aggression on Syrian sites .We stand by the Syrian people in confronting terrorism and facing the aggression.”

In Turn, Judeh stressed that Jordan supports the statement of the international working group in Geneva to resolve the crisis in Syria.

“Jordan’s position is clear regarding the need to find a political solution to the crisis to guarantee the safety and unity of the Syrian territories through a comprehensive dialogue with all spectrums of the Syrian people,” Judeh said.
