August 25, 2012 (TSR) – The ex-wife of former Brazilian President Fernando Collor de Melo claims he practiced black magic rituals while governing Brazil from 1990 to 1992.
“They (Collor de Melo and the group of advisers closest to him) performed black magic rituals but not with my participation, because in some things I did participate, but mostly I refused to take part,” Fox News Latino quoted Rosane Collor as saying in an interview with Globo television on Monday.
“There were doings in cemeteries, very powerful rituals, and with animals it was a complete slaughter of the chickens, oxen, cattle and other animals that were sacrificed. When I met Fernando he was already frequenting such scenes and after we were married he practiced” such acts, the former first lady added.
Ms. Collor also claimed that the rituals were led by a witch named Maria Cecilia. Cecilia, who currently holds a seat in the Senate and is allied with incumbent Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, also appeared beside Collor de Melo in several photos at the time he was head of state.
The disclosure by Rosane Collor echoes the dramatic accusations made by the former president’s brother, Pedro Collor de Melo, in 1992 regarding black magic rituals performed by the former Brazilian head of state.
Rosane Collor was married to the ex-president for 22 years until their separation in 2005.
Collor de Melo was the 32nd president of Brazil from 1990 to 1992, when he resigned in a failed attempt to prevent his removal from office by the Brazilian Senate for corruption. On a formal petition, impeachment proceedings were initiated in the Chamber of Deputies, the lower house of Congress. On September 29, 1992, Collor was impeached by a vote of 441 for and 38 votes against. He was found guilty by the Brazilian Senate and barred from holding any elected office for eight years. In 2006 he was elected senator from his native state of Alagoas, an office he still holds.
