The countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA-TCP) deeply regret the disappearance of Commander President Hugo Chávez after having fought a hard battle for life.

President Hugo Chávez was the beacon of light that inspired the emergence of ALBA-TCP, as an emancipatory project of the Latin American and Caribbean countries.

Never before in the history of our America was there a president who had done so much in such a short time for the integration and unity of the peoples of our continent. The UNASUR, CELAC, PETROCARIBE and ALBA are the practical expression of the integrationist fervor of Commander Hugo Chávez.

Inspired always in Simon Bolivar’s dream of building the Great Homeland, Hugo Chávez delivered with fervor and passion for the cause of integration and anti-imperialism for the redemption of the poor who were excluded worldwide.

Today the world’s poor feel deeply the passing leader representing his voice and will remain forever in their hearts, our dear Commander Hugo Chávez.

With the words of Commander Ernesto “Che” Guevara telling you onward to victory, and with the Venezuelan singer Ali Primera song, “those who die for life can not be called dead”,

The ALBA-TCP, will continue your unionist work to fulfill the dream of our liberators whom we embraced and which was offered by your fruitful life.

Farewell, beloved Commander Chavez!
