BRITISH and French agents are on a £1million-a-week, do-or-die mission deep undercover in Libya to get Colonel Gaddafi.
A team of 130 from the British security service MI6 and France’s Directorate-General for External Security will hunt for the dictator in Operation Fire And Forget.
Members of the team speak the language, have lived in the country for years and have made good contacts or landed jobs in key areas
A senior security source said: “They are personally sanctioned by David Cameron and President Sarkozy. This has to work.
“These agents are very brave people. If they get caught they will disappear and won’t survive an hour.”
Money is no object and the operation could cost an estimated £1m a week.
